Position Description
As the Marketing and Communications Manager you will be responsible for managing, implementing and reporting on all aspects of corporate communications, marketing and public relations. You will have a strong working knowledge of the online space and solid experience with B2B marketing and organizing trade shows. You will have a successful leadership track record for exemplary execution, creatively devising new strategies, spotting opportunities and surmounting challenges. Your aptitude for vision, stakeholder service, implementation and on-time delivery will take the Neverblue brand to the global stage.

 

You will be accountable to track spending against budget, develop monthly forecasts, and facilitate PO's. You are known for your ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and business units, while delivering on multiple priorities and deadlines.


Key Accountabilities

Marketing

This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing key metrics to evaluate the success of Marketing activities - and based on those results, developing strategies for continuous effectiveness and improvement.

  • Research and recommend new ways to promote the Neverblue brand
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of marketing communication materials
  • Manage all the logistics, press, marketing initiatives and communications surrounding industry conferences & trade shows
  • Provide oversight and direction to an internal design team
  • Promote and brand all special events and coordinate all branding and marketing collateral.
  • Implement SEO, SEM, and Social Media initiatives to drive organic results
  • Support and promote social media initiatives. Liaise with bloggers, newsletters and industry publications for media buys. Track conversions and adhere to fiscal responsibility
  • Develop innovative internet marketing campaigns to increase client acquisition

Communications/Public Relations

This position is responsible for connecting and engaging with local, industry and international media, clients and the online marketing industry. You will be responsible for effectively communicating the Neverblue brand, key products, services and partnerships, while keeping up to date on industry trends.

  • Pitch story ideas, pitch sheets, and bylined articles to journalists
  • Write and edit powerful, persuasive and thought provoking content and manage the press release process and copy for neverblue.com
  • Assist the Neverblue team with communications and marketing activities including but not limited to proposals, presentations, newsletters, and sponsorship packages.
  • Manage and maintain current media lists and contacts

 

Community Relations

  • Act as main point of contact for local associations (GVCC, VIATeC, BCTIA) and donation requests
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local businesses, non-profits, and charitable organizations
  • Develop partnerships and build local brand awareness by being actively involved in the local business and technology sector
  • Attend community events as the representative for Neverblue
  • Identify and manage the award application process for corporate awards
  • Coordinate corporate sponsorships at the industry and local level

 

Candidate Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years experience in Marketing/Communications
  • Post-secondary education in commerce, marketing and/or communications
  • Management experience required
  • Online marketing and/or advertising experience required
  • Experience working in the fast paced technology industry an asset

 

Key Competencies

  • Articulate, personable and enjoy working in a team based environment
  • Exceptional sense of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan work to meet deadlines and unexpected situations and/or requests
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite, HTML and using the Internet as a research tool
